Black Booth Christmas Charity Event 14 December 2013

Welcome to the 2013 Black Booth Christmas Charity Event gallery. To support to the community and to share the success of Black Booth photo booths, I have decided to return to the Philippines to sponsor another Christmas party for approximately 60 less fortunate street children ranging from 3 – 16 years of age.

The Party was yet again held at the popular local fast food outlet Jollibee in the city of Baclaran where the children enjoyed party games, prizes, delicious food and a Christmas gifts (educational activity books and crayons/pens for all the children and an additional basketball and hoop for the boys and a doll for the girls) from Black Booth.

The children invited to this event are part of a local voluntary community support program called 'Angels on Call'. The Angels on call volunteers reach out to street children and work with them to develop basic literacy skills, give them hope, provide guidance and mentor them with the intention of showing them life opportunities off the streets. Most of the volunteers are ordinary working people who donate their time on Saturdays to assist the children.

Unfortunately, due to the overwhelming poverty of their families and increasing demand of the public school system in the Philippines, many of these children don’t have the opportunity to attend school and are lacking any formal education.

All of the Children are very malnourished and are small for their age due to their irregular diet and harsh life on the streets.

This event would not be possible without the generous support of the Couples/Singles for Christ and Angels on Call volunteers and the generous donations from family, friends and staff of the NSW Health Education and Training Institute.

On behalf of Black Booth photo booths and the children, parents and friends of those who attended this event, I would like to thank all the people involved and contributed towards the Black Booth Christmas Charity Event. We are grateful for your time and generosity which has made a difference to the lives of many.

I hope that the children not only saw this event as a reward for their hard work and progress but also inspiration to one day give back to their community.

I look forward to continuing to service the community and hope that your support will allow us to maintain this annual event.

Happy holidays!

Kind regards,
Jay Jacinto
